Do I need insurance to drive just bought car home? If not, what is home in that case?
It’d not make sense if this insurance is req’d as u can’t buy insurance without car and buying insurance right then and there with car is bit insane. If insurance is not needed, then how home is defined. I can buy car in GA and drive to my home to PA, right?
Answer:
The insurance laws are the way they are for a reason. You don’t see the ‘sense’ in it now but you will if you wreck and cause harm to someone else. You can not drive the car off the lot without proof of liability insurance or financial responsibility. If you can’t, or refuse, to do this then don’t buy the car.
Is home insurance a waste of money?
My grandparents seem to think so! they’ve got a huge house with lots of priceless things but gran can be very thrifty as she said she was born into poverty and used to always tell me what it was like growing up during the war. She said that you’re paying someone for nothing and that basically you’d be begging them to help you if anything went wrong and that they don’t really have to pay out so your paying money for nothing, what do you think? xxxx
Answer:
I would always have insurance for my home and its contents.
We live in an end house and had an ornamental wall of huge length that surrounded the whole house. A few months ago young vandals pulled about a third of the wall down. We would not have been able to afford the £2,000 it cost to rebuild it and were really glad our insurance covered it.
Who is the best home insurance company in Florida? I am 1 mile from the ocean?
Answer:
You’re in Florida, on the coast. Your problem isn’t finding the BEST company, it’s finding someone willing to WRITE you at ANY PRICE. Lots of luck. You’ll probably end up in the state company, Citizens.
Contact a few local insurance agents to see if they can help you. Be prepared to spend A LOT. You’ll probably need three policies – one homeowners, excludes wind & flood, one wind policy, and one flood policy.
Can’t find a local agent? Try these guys: www.huttinsurance.com
But remember, for Florida homeowners, it’s a seller’s market. And most sellers (insurance companies) aren’t interested in ANY Florida property. But you probably know that already.
In Georgia, is it a requirement for my landlord to have home owner’s insurance?
In Georgia, is it a requirement for my landlord to have home owner’s insurance? He made a comment to me that he does not and someone told me that is not legal..
Answer:
Not if he’s not living there. He should have dwelling insurance but that will not protect you or your property. You should carry renter’s insurance.

Could I buy the Home owner insurance policy for the rental house?
I have a second house and I will for rent could I keep the home ower insurance policy or have to change to the lanlord policy?
If I change to the Landlord policy does the lender accept it?
Answer:
In TX through Farmers you must get a landlord policy. If the insurance comp finds out someone else is living in the house they will not pay out if anything happens and could quite possibly cancel both your policies. It would benefit you more to get the landlord policy, it might cost more but will definitely cover if someone other than you is living in it. If you are renting it out to a stranger you have to have the landlord policy, if immediate family is living there you can keep the regular homeowners.
Will home owners insurance cover contractor’s injury?
An independent plumber was injured while working at someone’s home. He is currently hospitalized and will take a very long time before he works again. The plumber does have an insurance policy, but it does not cover worker’s comp. It only covers damage to his client’s property, his vehicle and his tools. Will his client’s home owners insurance cover this under personal liability?
Answer:
Most homeowners policies have medical payments coverage that applies to a third party without regard to fault. The problem is that the limit of liability is usually quite low because it is intended to pay for immediate emergency type of expenses. Most policies cover only ,000. with the opportunity to endorse a higher amount but few increase the standard amount.
You said it will be a long time before he works again. Medical payments will not cover loss of wages.
The plumber needed to purchase a health insurance policy and a disability policy. Otherwise he has to sue his own client and prove that the homeowners negligence was the direct cause of his injury.
Is it worth getting Home content insurance ?
I have about 6k worth of home cinema gear , Should i get insurance ?
My main question is , say someone steals it how easy is it to make a claim ?
Do these insurance companys pay up ? like Tesco ect
Answer:
It sure is…. If you have a fire you might need to replace absolutely everything, your bed, your chair, your beer fridge, every pair of socks, every glass, plate, everything. Add the cost of replacing that lot up and you’ll see that the home cinema is the least of your worries.
Yes they will pay up if you make a claim…. Tesco’s is really just a marketing brand for ‘UK Insurance Ltd’ which is the insurance arm of RBS…. to all intents and purposes Direct Line, Churchill & Tesco’s are just different marketing brands for the same company. I don’t know for sure, but I wouldn’t mind betting that the claims staff are the same whichever one you use. Someone who works down in Bromley may correct me though…
Whatever company you use, insurance in the UK is extremely well regulated. if you have a valid claim they have to pay up. There are very strict rules to make sure they play with a straight bat… if they don’t the regulator will jump all over them and fine them a fortune, which trust me, they often do.
Honestly mate you’d be daft not to get some contents cover, basic cover (exc. accidental damage) is fairly cheap, just don’t forget to check that the either the ‘any one item’ limit is high enough to cover your AV kit or that you add it as a specified item.
Do I need insurance for my home business. The UPS man will be picking up packages?
at the house. Also, I don’t own the home, my fiance does. What type of insurance would I need?
It will be an online business.
Answer:
Do you want someone else to hire the lawyer, if someone sues you for something related to your business? Do you want someone else to pay the judgement? If your business property is damaged or stolen, do you want an insurance company to pay for it?
If the answer to any of those is ‘yes’, then you need to buy business insurance.
Keep in mind, you probably also need renters insurance – the guy you’re living with, his homeowners doesn’t cover stuff that belongs to anyone living there, that’s not RELATED to him. And homeowners or renters insurance, has very strong limitations on BUSINESS property.
