LOOKING FOR HOME OWNERS INSURANCE CALIFORNIA WITH A ROTTWEILER?
I am purchasing a house this month and trying to get an IDEA on how much my home owners insurance will run me, however I have a rottweiler ( obedience trained, no attack training) and several insurance companies have out right told me they do not write policies for owners with rottweilers… any one know of a company that will cover me? and Not charge me an arm and a leg??
Answer:
State farm is a dog friendly company. They only ask if your dog was trained to be a guard dog or if it has ever bitten anybody. Not sure if it varies by state but in my state they insure aggressive breeds
Where can I find home owners insurance that will pay the remaining balance on my home when I pass on. (Die)?
I understand there are companies that do this. I would like to leave it to a family member, and am worried that they will not be able to pay the balance. This way I know it will be taken care of.
Answer:
Hi, you need to get life assurance (term assurance) so, if you have 20 years left on your mortgage, you get 20years life insurance to cover the amount owed.
Some firms do decreasing term assurance, which runs along side your mortgage and the sum insured decreases as you pay off the capital.
So, make sure you check whether you are buying level term assurance or not, and choose to suit your needs.

With whom should I insure my home, now that State Farm is letting go of their Florida home insurance policies?
Answer:
It pays to start shopping around for a new policy. The good news is that more than a dozen insurance companies have entered the market since the hurricane-induced meltdown of 2004-06.
Citizens Property Insurance Corp., the state’s insurer of last resort, has been farming out hundreds of thousands of its policies to startup companies. Firms in that group include American Integrity Insurance, United Property & Casualty and Federated National Insurance. Many have been dubbed poor financial risks, though none has been tested thanks to our mostly storm-free hurricane seasons since 2006.
Companies with stronger ratings have been branching out in Florida, too. One is St. Petersburg’s ASI, which recently insured only newer homes, but now is taking on older homes.
If you struggle to find coverage, contact the Florida Market Assistance Plan at www.fmap.org or by calling toll-free 800-524-9023. FMAP helps consumers find coverage. If you still can’t secure a policy, an agent will place you with Citizens Property Insurance.
Do you think home insurance companies are shivering in their boots b/c of those California fires?
Answer:
These fires happen every year. Earthquakes too. The media has blown it more out of hand than it actually might be. I think this fire series is no worse than any other in the past.
Need to find cheap home insurance?
I’m buying a house and one of the requirements of the grant that I’m receiving is that the insurance on the house can’t be over 0.00 a year. ( a month). I’ve tried Progressive and Sagamore already and they’re over. So does anyone know of anything?
Answer:
ask a local independent insurance agent how that can be done. S/he probably represents 10 to 20 companies.
likely, you’ll have to accept some limitations you wouldn’t otherwise want.
how many auto/home insurance policies are purchased via the internet?
We understand many insurance policies are shopped for on the internet, but how many are actually purchased via the internet?
Answer:
There is no way you are going to get a valid response to this one if you are looking for a percentage of all policies sold. It is obvious that there is a lot of growth in this area since you see a lot more companies offering quotes and other services online. For people who have a basic understanding of insurance and their financial needs this is a great solution but they should understand that it will not necessarily save them any money. Sometimes the best bet is to still use a local agent.
my home insurance was declared void where can i get insurance?
Answer:
I recommend speaking with an insurance broker. A broker works with several companies and can identify the best company, rates, and coverage for you. To find a broker in your area, log on to a website like http://www.homeownerswiz.com and fill out a form requesting a free quote. Good luck!
If you buy a home without an agent or with a discount agent, how do you shop for title insurance?
Even if you work with full-commission (3%) agents, they just work with their favorite title insurance companies. They don’t comparison shop the best deal for you.
How do you find out the quality of service of a title insurance company? How do you find out all the fees that the title insurance will cost you?
Title insurance is to ensure that your home has a free and clear title and no one has a lien or a claim on it. It’s critical and requires professional expertise. You don’t want to do it yourself, and cannot afford to be self-insured. You don’t want to find out by surprise that your home isn’t yours after you’ve paid your down payment and all the closing costs. Title insurance ensures that this never happens, assuming that the insurance company does its job.
Is anyone familiar with the California laws? Is it always the seller’s agent who chooses the title insurance company? Do the laws require that all title insurance companies do pretty much the same things to check the title?
Answer:
title insurance is cut and dry so to speak,
im going thru a large claim on mine right now,
they are really terrible to deal with.
they all have to provide the same coverage, and service as required by the state,
the fees they charge are usually state regulated also, they all charge the state regulated amount, ( like Gap insurance for a car ) its always the same for everyone.
a trip to the register of deeds will save you the money, ( I wish I would have )
if its not on the record the title insurance wont cover it anyway.
I had an easement the title insurance didnt find, and now the easement holder came in and is doing as he wishes all over our property, tearing down trees, removing a building,
It was on record at the court house, and the title insurance still dosen’t want to pay.

What is the difference between home owners insurance for a manufactured/modular home and a home in general?
Answer:
There are different policies for mobile homes and regular homes. Manufactured, or pre-fab homes are treated just like regular homes by most, by not all, insurance companies. Mobile homes are more restrictive because of the construction. All the policies cover the structure, contents, liability, guest medical payments, and loss of use.
